General Review

Janet had been working for the same company throughout her eleven year career, beginning as a secretary. During that time, she had completed a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, and had started work on her MBA. She had become an expert in her role as communication liaison between the company and its business partners, helping the company navigate the intricacies of other corporate cultures to achieve its goals.

However, Janet had grown dissatisfied with her prospects within the company. She felt that her professional role was not adequately acknowledged, and came to R.L. Stevens for help in identifying and seeking opportunities in companies that would help her reach her career goals.

Janet and her consultant set to work on identifying Janet’s strengths and weaknesses and finding where her skills fit in the industry.  Janet’s consultant then wrote a targeted resume that succinctly promoted Janet’s ability to add value in line with the needs of the company. During the early stages of her RL Stevens campaign, Janet’s boss became aware of her dissatisfaction, and rallied support to keep her at the company.

Suddenly Janet found herself in the position for negotiating a raise and a promotion. Janet’s consultant coached her on the negotiation process and provided crucial tips for getting the maximum increase. Janet wrote, “The skill sets developed by working with RL Stevens were immensely helpful when applied within my own company. I intend to continue to work with my consultant over the next few years to continue to develop my career.”
