Client: Mary
General Review
Mary had 15 years of success in progressively responsible positions managing trading systems, operations and compliance, all in a single investment bank that was German based, extremely conservative, regimented and very slow to change. She saw the company cutting back its U.S. operations and was concerned about her future there. Mary sought a position in a leading Wall Street firm, but she felt out of touch with the job market and was worried about the perceived bias against women in the securities industry at the senior management levels.
Mary’s consultant responded to her desire for an accelerated program by completing the instructional phase in record time. Initially he created a powerful targeted resume for her that emphasized her goal-oriented tenacity and her impressive array of achievements. After sharpening Mary’s interviewing skills, the campaign focus shifted to helping her expand her network and target decision-makers from the RLS database in leading investment companies.
Three offers came to Mary in two exciting weeks simultaneous to the end of the instructional phase of the program. Her consultant coached her on evaluating the opportunities for “best fit” and negotiating to successfully improve the offer she accepted, which was with a premier Wall Street firm, as operations manager/administrator of a new Boston branch with unlimited growth potential.
