General Review

Jack’s entire career had been in the food service industry. He had owned and operated a restaurant for the past fifteen years. Although he enjoyed the work, the hours were long, and managing the primarily teenage staff sometimes proved frustrating. When he received a lucrative offer to purchase his restaurant, he jumped at the chance to make a career change. Not knowing how best to proceed, he came to R.L. Stevens for help.

Jack’s consultants evaluated his strengths, experience, and interests in order to define an appropriate match. One of the aspects of his work that he had most enjoyed was the people contact. In addition, as a restaurant owner, he had many contacts in the food and beverage industry. Opportunities in sales seemed attractive, so he and his consultants determined that he would focus on opportunities within that industry as a bridge to a career in sales.

Interview practice helped to polish Jack’s skills, and to develop a strategic approach to building value for the position he wanted. After completing several marketing letters, and receiving his resume, he was ready to launch. He immediately began receiving requests for interviews, and several offers resulted. He selected a position in the beverage industry, where he would call on upscale restaurants and stores, and continue to develop his contacts and refine his natural sales ability.  A successful end to a expedient campaign.
