General Review

Donald’s experience spanned roles as CEO, CFO, COO and CIO of several very successful industry leading firms.  His most recent assignment was as president of one of the premier consulting firms in the United States.  His travel schedule was horrendous, and with the age of his children in school, he wanted to land an opportunity that would allow him to stay close to home, and be more involved as a husband and a father. 

We discussed the fact that the types of executive positions that he was pursuing didn’t grow on trees, and how recent dissolutions of large companies had negatively impacted the public perception of large compensation packages.  So we committed to stay the course, and patiently work the opportunities that did unfold.  Donald’s consultant provided him with a plethora of multifaceted research that led him to several unadvertised opportunities and provided information showing the beginning of the hiring pattern in some industries.

Through a ‘multiple contacts into a company’ (email, on line, direct contact from RLS staff, direct to decision maker contact, and direct contact to the exec search partner) approach, Donald attracted attention and became one of the final three candidates… after which he was selected as the top candidate for the position of CFO, and the office is less than 25 minutes from his home.
