GENERAL REVIEW

Mitchell had worked for and been consistently promoted within Microsoft for more than 12 years, and was looking to move across country to be closer to family and enhance his career, while winning higher income. Because of his busy schedule and the high degree of difficulty of the campaign, he asked R.L. Stevens & Associates to help him evaluate his options and make the transition while meeting his goals.

Mitchell immediately benefited from defining the value he could offer in a new industry.  His consultant showed him extensive company research that provided many options, and then helped him contemplate his situation within his company, the industry, and the slow economy.   Once his objectives were defined, now his marketing—both oral and written communications—were targeted to his goals.

“[My consultant] developed a GREAT resume, which really provided the edge in getting the interview.”

Mitchell’s consultant focused his campaign on non-published opportunities, targeting companies in his industry, and networking to interview with decision makers.  With further research and prepared with senior interview strategies, he was soon established as the leader for two positions; with a national consulting company and with an international business equipment company.

“I appreciated the specific recommendations in negotiating, and in reviewing the final offer letter.”

Mitchell achieved both his goals, moving near (but not too near) family, and winning a strong increase in his compensation.  As VP he has advanced his career and responsibility, meeting new challenges and making additional growth.

“I cannot tell you how lucky I feel.  Thanks for your help! The job is going well and I am networking and driving on the core tasks.”
