General Review

Neal came to RL Stevens after completion of his MBA and having never worked in the U.S. before, although he had worked for American corporations abroad for several years. His primary concerns were finding the right potential employers, making sure the correct contact methods were implemented, being properly prepared for interviews and making sure his experience and education would be viewed in the most effective way.

Neal’s Consultant started by understanding where his skills, experience and education would best fit relative to industry and positions. This was crucial to success in the career search to prevent Neal from becoming a bargain to the next employer.  Thorough training and preparation was done so that the “tricky” interview questions would not become a stumbling block. Neal also became very proficient using the RL Steven’s 3-C Story method to illustrate he had the skills needed in the positions he was interviewing for.  After Neal’s Consultant presented him with spot opportunities and with names of who to contact before positions became available.  He was also provide with a written Marketing Plan, he became a very good student of our career search methodologies. He began to implement all of them exactly as he was trained and this was a great part of the reason the successful results came so quickly.

As it occasionally happens, an opportunity surfaced and Neal and his Consultant quickly set out to capitalize on it.  After the first interview with what became his new employer, Neal found he was being interviewed for a new Director’s position and the excitement heightened.  Two interviews later a very nice offer was given and with guidance from his Consultant, Neal was able to negotiate a compensation package that should break $100K after the bonus of the first year. This obviously made him quite happy.
