General Review

When Brent came to R.L. Stevens & Associates, he had been unemployed for 2 months, and had distributed numerous resumes that resulted in no interviews. In his mid-50’s he was having difficulty breaking the barrier of age and lack of college degree. He said he needed help in organizing his campaign, developing a good resume, and assistance with finding the right industry where he could transfer his skills and ultimately find more enjoyable work, as soon as possible.

Realizing it had been many years since Brent had interviewed; his consultant quickly groomed him in an effective targeted presentation and communication methods to emphasize his transferrable skills and industry knowledge while minimizing his liabilities, such as unemployment and lack of degree. She also developed a plan of attack to approach less crowded unadvertised opportunities, and provided research on target companies and decision maker names. 

Although Brent was offered a position at another company with higher pay, he chose to accept a position at a different company that would give him the most satisfaction. Additionally, his consultant helped him negotiate a $6,000 sign on bonus, added vacation time, and accumulation of travel miles he would acquire while working-so he can occasionally take his wife with him on trips overseas. Now, as a Corporate Trainer, Brent is able to thoroughly enjoy his new role, while providing others with his expert knowledge of HVAC.
