Tired of going to interviews and feeling like you just don’t fit in? Yearning for something more out of your work? Feeling like you just don’t fit in? Have a great idea that you want to put into action? Maybe it’s time to start interviewing yourself to be your own boss?
The 2013 Amway Global Entrepreneurship Report is out and it surveyed 26,000 people in 24 countries, led by GfK Research and the Entrepreneurship Centre at The University of Munich. The world is becoming more open to supporting entrepreneurs as the infographic based on the report shows, so the question is: Are you ready for self-employment or do you still prefer the traditional company ladder?
This year, two-thirds of respondents had a positive attitude toward entrepreneurship and 46 percent consider their country entrepreneur-friendly. The study also shows we need to help people feel comfortable with the idea of owning their own business: “Fear of failure” is, by far, the No. 1 obstacle. It is our [Amway’s] hope that this study will shape the way educators, politicians and small business leaders engage with the public to strengthen the global entrepreneurial spirit.
Do you have the entrepreneurial spirit? Does seeing more data on the subject make you more open to considering an entrepreneurial path?
